SaVoa Board Restructured
In order to be responsive to North Carolina state requirements for corporations, SaVoa has restructured its directorship.
Executive Board
The business of running SaVoa and the corporate duties will now be handled by an Executive Board of Directors. The Executive Board will oversee all matters affecting the accreditation program and SaVoa’s core goals. All voting powers of SaVoa will rest with the Executive Board, the majority of whose members shall be residents of North Carolina.
With great pleasure, SaVoa welcomes veteran voice actors Bob Souer and Chris Mezzolesta as directors of SaVoa. They will join Ed Gambill and Thom Wilkins as SaVoa’s new Executive Board of Directors. Bob Souer will also serve as SaVoa’s first Vice-President whose primary duties will be member services.
Advisory Board
The initial vetting process for all matters having to do with accreditation criteria, the peer review process, any educational programs and all matters having to do with SaVoa’s purpose and long-term goals will be handled by an Advisory Board. These members will advise the Executive Board. They will not have authority to vote on corporate matters nor have corporate duties, responsibilities or oversight of the accreditation program. However, the Advisory Board will be advocates for accredited voice actors and as such will represent accredited voice actors’ needs and desires and develop resulting proposals for consideration.
SaVoa is pleased to announce that most of its original founding members have agreed to serve on the Advisory Board. Robert Jadah, Scott Pollak, Nikki Saco, and Erik Sheppard will join Thom Wilkins as SaVoa’s first Advisory Board.
Founding Members
SaVoa remains indebted to its founding members. These voice actors volunteered considerable time and attention to developing and maintaining SaVoa’s accreditation program which launched in September, 2007. For that reason, SaVoa wants to acknowledge the contributions of Kat Keesling. Kat has chosen not to maintain an active role in the running of SaVoa, but her participation and generosity will be long remembered.
